Noblesse Proteins BV

Storage and transhipment of feather, meat and blood meal

For slaughterhouse waste processor Noblesse, our engineers studied the processing of blood meal, meat meal and feather meal. In this process, contamination, among other things, had to be taken into account. How did they do this?

Location

At Noblesse proteins the existing production site had to be improved in terms of storage and loading. The available height is 11,000 mm at the ridge and 9,500 mm at the wall, the width of tents is 45,000 mm.

The main challenge for our engineers was that it had to be possible to mix from all of the silos. In addition, we had to ensure two completely separate lines to prevent contamination. Finally, all silos had to be placed on load cells for the correct dosage.

Objectives

Storage capacity

  • feather meal 300 tons
  • meat meal 600 tons
  • blood meal 60 tons

Loading

  • movable conveyor above the cars with loading bellows
  • loading with a capacity of 60-80 tons/hour
  • Implementation

Jansen&Heuning designed a logistic system to meet the requirements of the customer. The system consists of:

  • new silo block consisting of five silos of over 100 m3
  • revision and reuse of four existing silos
  • silos for even filling; fitted with distribution screws
  • double pull-out screws under the silos to prevent bridging
  • horizontal and vertical chain conveyors for closed transport to the loading area
  • eight spot filters that keep the transporters and loading bellows under pressure
  • bigbag filling station with weighing hopper, capacity 20/30 bigbags per hour
  • loading with two mobile screws equipped with loading bellows for open trucks and bulk trucks
  • automatic sampler
  • Control with PLC Siemens S7 and HMI

Result

The customer was very satisfied with the result of our research. Because of this we were commissioned to carry out the project. Jansen&Heuning has executed this project completely in-house, including detail engineering, project management, machine construction, control and assembly.
